WordPress 6.6 – What’s new?
The new WordPress ‘Dorsey’ update brings us new design elements, bug fixes, as well as enhanced usability and creativity whilst building your site.

- Pattern management: Allowing for more efficient navigation and fewer clicks.
- Keyboard navigation: enhanced for a smoother editing experience.
- Bulk editing actions: You can now bulk editing multiple blocks at once.
Shared Workflow:
- Unified publishing flow: this gives a more consistent experience when navigating between different elements of your site.
- Improved layout and design: more prominent displays for the title, publishing status, and featured image.
Block Editor Enhancements:
- Synced pattern overrides: you can customise individual instances of a synced pattern
- Edit custom field values from connected blocks: to streamline your workflow.
- Data Views enhancements: the ability to filter and sort data more easily.
New Tools and Features:
- Block patterns in Classic themes: providing more flexibility in design.
- Colour palettes and font sets: offering more design options.
- Quick previews for pages: allowing you to preview pages before editing them.
Performance and Accessibility:
- Performance improvements: 40% reduction in template loading time in the editor.
- Accessibility enhancements: 55 accessibility fixes and enhancements have been implemented.
This is the 50th WordPress release, and as with every release, brings us new improvements.
